(Nashville, Tenn.) November 8th, 2007 – With over 8,000 teenagers and youth leaders in attendance at this year’s Generation Unleashed annual conference, the praise and worship musical essence has been captured by Maranatha! Music on the upcoming January 29th album release, Generation Unleashed.
The 13-song live album heralds the standout new tracks "Always," "Saved My Soul," and "All Things Through Christ," along with fresh interpretation of the classic, "I Love You Lord." Sonically, the guitar-driven Generation Unleashed band, often compared to Hillsongs United, is known for their passionate songwriting style, intimate worship moments and aggressive, loud musical stylings.
Generation Unleashed is comprised of worship leaders Donna Lasit (vocals, key/songwriter), Jeremy Scott (vocals, guitar/songwriter) and Jordan Flip (vocals/songwriter), all hailing from Portland, Oregon. The husband and wife team of Pastor Doug Lasit and Donna Lasit currently lead Generation Ministries at City Bible Church. They aim to help young people find their source of strength and understanding from God and not become driven by culture, as well as mentor kids in finding their God-given musical talent. Donna, who started writing worship songs at the age of 16, encourages young people to be innovative. “I love seeing young people write songs that are true originals - songs and melodies that come from God.”
Jeremy Scott echoes the passion behind the ministry of it all. “I love to see younger musicians and worshippers getting raised up in the church,” notes Scott. “I believe that God is raising up young people through the nation to do something special in worship today and for the future.”
Generation Unleashed, an annual conference for teenagers and their youth pastors, was begun in 1993 as an outreach of Portland's City Bible Church. City Bible Church currently impacts the city at 3 separate sites in addition to a weekly gathering at Portland State University.
